Le châle de Béa ::: Béa's shawl

Alors pour réaliser ce magnifique châle, il suffit de suivre quelques étapes faciles:

1. Acheter de la laine.
2. Commencer un châle.
3. À mi-chemin environ, réaliser que le modèle (payé) est à peu de chose près le même qu'un autre de la même créatrice (gratuit) qu'on a déjà fait.
4. Constater aussi que le châle sera plutôt format poupée, à moins que les petits fichus ne reviennent rapidement au goût du jour.
5. Détricoter.
6. Retourner la partie non-utilisée de la laine au magasin.
7. Choisir d'autre laine.
8. En faire un amas inextricable en essayant de rouler l'écheveau en boule.
9. Prendre au minimum deux semaines pour défaire patiemment tous les noeuds sans (trop) abîmer la laine.
10. Commencer un nouveau modèle.
11. Faire plein d'erreurs et les rattraper par la peau des fesses, pas toujours très élégamment.
12. Avoir des sueurs froides à l'idée de manquer de laine.
13. Manquer de laine.
14. Faire une bordure d'une autre couleur.
15. Réaliser que ça ne plaira pas du tout à la récipiendaire.
16. Détricoter.
17. Trouver d'autre laine pour la bordure.
18. Finir juste à temps.
19. Être un petit peu fière, et surtout soulagée.
20. Omettre de prendre des photos (merci Béa pour le shooting in situ!)
21. Prendre un train pour Paris et livrer le châle en personne!
22. (Étape bonus) Attendre près d'un an avant de publier un article sur ledit châle.

So, to make this magnificent shawl, just follow a few simple and easy steps:

1. Buy yarn.
2. Start knitting.
3. Approximately halfway through, realise that the (paid) pattern is pretty much the same as another (free) pattern, from the same designer, that you've done before.
4. Also realise that the shawl will be doll-size, unless tiny hankies come back in style really soon.
5. Rip the whole thing.
6. Return unused yarn to the shop.
7. Choose another yarn.
8. Tangle it up tightly while trying to roll the skein into a ball.
9. Take at least two weeks to patiently untie all the knots without damaging the yarn (much).
10. Start a new pattern.
11. Make mistake upon mistake, always narrowly managing to repair them, not always elegantly.
12. Have cold sweats at the thought of running out of yarn.
13. Run out of yarn.
14. Knit a border in another colour.
15. Realise that the recipient definitely won't like it.
16. Rip.
17. Find a different yarn for the border.
18. Finish in the nick of time.
19. Be a little bit proud, but mostly relieved.
20. Neglect to take pictures (thank you Béa for shooting it in situ!)
21. Jump on a train to Paris and hand deliver the shawl!
22. (Bonus step) Wait almost a year before blogging about said shawl.
